New Gallery Wall on Display! Come on down to the Museum to see the new gallery wall! The theme this year is ‘Man’s Best Friends’. Animals of all shapes and sizes and in many mediums will be on display for all of 2026.
America A-Z Exhibit! 2026 marks the Semi-Quincentennial, or the 250th Anniversary, of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. With over 100 artifacts, this exhibit tells stories of the history of the nation, with a La Porte County twist. This exhibit will be on display for all of 2026.
February 3-28: Black History Month Exhibit Opens! This exhibit will spotlight ten people who were historic firsts in La Porte County. From the first Black doctor in Michigan City to the first Black lawyer admitted to the La Porte County Bar Association, learn about some of the people who helped make La Porte County what it is today.
February 14: Pioneer Land Spinners Back at the Museum! On February 14th, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, the spinners from Pioneer Land will be spinning yarn from natural fibers at the Museum just like the pioneers did. If you missed seeing these talented artisans on January 17th, this is your last chance to see them at the Museum until next year!
