January 2: New Gallery Wall Display Opens! Come on down to the Museum to see the new gallery wall! The theme this year is ‘Man’s Best Friends’. Animals of all shapes and sizes and in many mediums will be on display for all of 2026.
January 8: America A-Z Exhibit! 2026 marks the Semi-Quincentennial, or the 250th Anniversary, of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. With over 100 artifacts, this exhibit tells stories of the history of the nation, with a La Porte County twist. This exhibit will be on display for all of 2026.
January 17: Pioneer Land Spinners at the Museum! On January 17th, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, the spinners from Pioneer Land will be spinning yarn from natural fibers at the Museum just like the pioneers did. These talented artisans visit the Museum only twice a year so it is a special opportunity to see them here!
January 30: Historical Society Founding Day! January 30, 2026 marks the 120th birthday of La Porte County Historical Society!
