On January 13th, from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm, the spinners from Pioneer Land will be spinning yarn from natural fibers at the Museum. They may even give you a try! These talented artisans usually spin in a barn at the La Porte County Fairgrounds, so it is a special opportunity to see them here! Come learn more about how pioneers made their textiles from

January 30, 2023 marks 118 years of the Historical Society in La Porte County.
For the month of February, we are celebrating black businesses and even more influential black residents of La Porte County this year. From local businesses to the fur-trader who founded Chicago, stories large and small are told in this exhibit! This exhibit closes on February 29.

This traveling exhibit from the Indiana Historical Society promotes the need to property care for Museum collections to continue preserving local history. Learn about the different ways to protect collections and the dangers that they face. This exhibit will be on display from February 16 to April 2.
