Come see the Museum decorated for the holiday season!

On Saturday, December 20th from 6-8pm, the La Porte County Historical Society Museum will be hosting the annual Night at the Giese Church! Come on down to see this amazing church that has been a holiday tradition in La Porte for decades and learn the history behind it! Hot cocoa and cookies will be provided.

Join us on Saturday, March 21st at 2:00pm for our first Historical Society Meeting of the year! Gary and Sandy Ashby are the guest speakers and will be giving a talk titled 'We Met at the White House: Our Service to Three Presidents'. Join us on Saturday, April 4 at 2:00pm for a showing of the documentary 'Discovering Naomi Anderson' by Rana Segal! After the showing, there will be a Q & A session with Rana and others who were involved in the documentary. We hope everyone will be able to stop by to see this wonderful film

Families are invited to join us on Saturday, April 18th at the Museum for story time and a hands-on activity at 10:30am! This is a FREE event and all ages are welcome! For April, children are going to learn about the 9-sided Door Prairie Barn that is next to the Museum.

See a variety of vintage postcards in the Museum's collection and learn about the places around La Porte County that the postcards highlighted! This exhibit will be on display until August 29.
