For the month of February, we are celebrating black businesses and even more influential black residents of La Porte County this year. From local businesses to the fur-trader who founded Chicago, stories large and small are told in this exhibit! This exhibit closes on February 29.
Find the Red Hearts that are hidden in the Museum!
On February 10th, from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm, the spinners from Pioneer Land will be spinning yarn from natural fibers at the Museum. Come learn more about how pioneers made their textiles from these knowledgeable women.
This traveling exhibit from the Indiana Historical Society promotes the need to property care for Museum collections to continue preserving local history. Learn about the different ways to protect collections and the dangers that they face. This exhibit will be on display from February 16 to April 2.

To celebrate the Kingsford Heights Exhibit, all Kingsford Heights residents have free admission to the Museum!
Chris Maniel, a librarian at the La Porte County Public Library, will be presenting the program "The Lost Towns of La Porte County" on Tuesday, March 19. This program will begin at 7pm at the Museum. We hope to see everyone there!
