September 30 – November : Traveling Exhibit The Great War: From Ration Lines To the Front Lines! This traveling exhibit by the Indiana Historical Society explores World War I and expands on how the war started, when America entered the war, and how Hoosiers participated in the war effort.
October 1 – November 29: Advertising Exhibit! Before the ads we all see on TV, how were people advertising their businesses in La Porte County? There were certainly familiar methods: radio, print, etc. but, many businesses got creative. Come see some great historic advertisements of the past!
November 18 : Historical Society Meeting! Kelly Reiss, Director of University Archives and Feet First Exhibition at Rosalind Franklin University, will be giving a talk about Dr. Scholl, the famous foot specialist from La Porte County. The talk will take place at the Museum at 7:00pm.
November 22 : Holiday Artisan Fair! Our fifth annual Holiday Artisan Fair will take place on Saturday, November 22 from 10:00am-3:00pm. Entrance to the fair will be by donation. There will be local artisans offering unique holiday gift items; ornaments, jewelry, wristlets, scarves, original prints and cards, ceramics, pottery, crochet, resin art and more!
