SUMMARY:La Porte County Veterans Exhibition Opens
DESCRIPTION:From September 1 to November 19\, a special exhibit of thirty-nine military uniforms and associated artifacts will be on display at the La Porte County Historical Society Museum! Uniforms from the Civil War\, Spanish American War\, World War I\, World War II\, Vietnam War\, Korean War\, and Desert Storm/Gulf War will be displayed around the museum\, along with a variety of other artifacts from each war. An exhibit catalog is available to learn more about the people who wore the uniforms on display. If you would like to take one home with you\, we ask that you please give a donation on your way out.

The individuals being honored for promoting and preserving La Porte County’s history are Greg Fruth and Mark Williams. The Kesling Foundation is also being honored for its many years of dedication to preserving La Porte County’s history.

DESCRIPTION:As part of the conclusion of La Porte County Historical Society’s presentation of Hoosiers and Their Hooch\, former Judge William J. Boklund will discuss the impact of Prohibition on the law in general and specifically on two criminal trials that occurred in La Porte that turned the legal system upside down. Come to the La Porte County Historical Society Museum on Saturday\, September 24 at 2pm to hear this fascinating talk with former Judge Boklund and see the Hoosiers and Their Hooch traveling exhibit before it leaves! Price of admission is $5.00 for adults\, $4.00 for seniors\, and kids and members get in free.
