Michigan City, 1957

This month we have side-by-side images of Michigan City, Indiana from early 1957. The photograph on the left shows the Superior Court House, with the Police Station being housed in part of the building. In the background is the Central Fire Station.

In the photo on the right, several local residents clean the windshield of a Pontiac of about 1956 vintage, with Pullman-Standard Manufacturing Company in the background. The car is parked on 7th Street, with just a corner of the Barker Mansion showing on the right. These photographs were taken by Bill Swedenberg.
