Welcome to the site of the La Porte County Historical Society Museum! We hope you enjoy your tour and will consider attending in person when you can! La Porte County is rich in history and the wonderful museum reflects that. The La Porte County Historical Society Museum hosts many events and exhibits each year; from re-enacting the Civil War to filling an acre of land with old cars, permanent exhibits to special current exhibits, there is something for everyone!

2018 Calendars for Sale

 

The La Porte County Historical Society calendars for 2018 are now for sale at the museum. Each year a theme is chosen concerning local history. This year the calendar features La Porte County Quilts from the Historical Society’s collection. The calendar is entitled, “I Fall to Pieces” and is loaded with bright colorful photographs of beautiful historic quilts. The oldest quilt featured is from 1815, before Indiana was even a state! This calendar would make a great Christmas gift for anyone who loves quilts and appreciates the loving hands that worked to create something for all generations to enjoy.

    The calendars sell for $12.00 each and are available at the front desk of the museum, which is located at 2405 Indiana Ave. in La Porte.
